Tuscon, Arizona

So, my wonderful trip to Arizona has come and gone.... but I must say, it was the perfect place to get away and relax. Though we did do a lot of fun things! The first day I got there Emily took me to this Mexican restaurant that was awesome and very authentic. It was so delcious. Then we got to Emily's house, but on the way there, it was a very scenic drive... (pictures below) Who knew a desert could be so beautiful? On thursday Emily took me to Arizona for the benefit of my husband to go visit Hard Rock Cafe and get him a collector's beer glass. So she made it an overnighter and we stayed at this awesome hotel for super cheap!!! So when we got there we layed out at the pool and when we got up we noticed we were in the shade! We were so relaxed we didn't really care but we laughed out heads off. But we did move over a few chairs down and did it again! Oh well! It was probably a good thing because I was falling a sleep.
This was how hot it was in Phoenix! But amazingly it was bearable :) It was actually pretty nice!

Here are just a couple pictures from the Hard Rock Cafe. The guitars were the chandelier in the middle of the restaraunt. It was pretty cool, it took me a few tries to get it in the center. But it was pretty cool :)
This is one of the homes by Emily's house, the lady that lives here is in her ward. It's it amazing beautiful? I loved it I had to take a picture of it.
And of course I had to stop and get a donut here because they are so amazing! I had to take a picture for proof for my husband :)

These few pictures was our scenic drive to Emily's house.... I think it's beautiful.

These are the wonderful people that took me in for a few days!! Emily and her husband Brandon, thanks for letting me come and visit you!!!

And a Welcome Home poster from my kids :) I couldn't get them to look at the camera.... especially Adie...
I had a wonderful time!! This trip was exactly what I needed. I was really starting to feel trapped and and I needed to get out. I was able to take a few naps which never ever happens!! We also did manicures and pedicures which were awesome and did a lot of shopping and lounging around. It was nice to feel lazy!!

Easter (better late than never)

Easter was a lot of fun this year now that the kids are getting older each year where they start to know more and more about the holidays. My mom had an Easter egg hunt and her house where we colored eggs had some delicous ham and rolls and potatoes and then a easter lesson about Christ and his amazing sacrafice he made for all of us. Played a little game and then had a great egg hunt. The kids all loved it. I mean what kid wouldn't like finding candy everywhere!! Coloring Easter eggs. Each kid had about 5 or 6 eggs to color... all of Davis' were BLUE
The Start of the egg hunt
Davis was super sweet and made sure Adie got some candy, he would pick one up and run it over to her and put it in her basket.... it's great to see your kids do little kind things like that. Adie, was so excited that he didn't even wait to put it in her basket and eat it later.... she had to open it and eat it right then and there!! She was in chocolate heaven!!
This was the result of Davis' easter basket.... everything he picked up was BLUE!!! He is so obsessed with that color that he has to have everything blue!!! We thought it was truly hilarious he would only pick up blue candy he would even take candy out of other's baskets if they were blue!! It really is funny the things they pick up.
Of course Adie is still digging in!
What she looked like after eating her chocolate!
Davis enjoying his candy.
Easter morning we weren't able to get a family photo so I opted to be in the picture.
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter and was able to reflect on the wonderul sacrifices our Savior made for us. We truly are blessed to be able to have a Savior that sufferd for all of our sins so we can see our families again.

Time to myself?

So things around here have been going crazy for the past few months and I am ready to go crazy!!! Just busy with both of us working and trying to pay the bills and putting up with my 3 year old and my sassy little 18 month old and keeping up with house work.... i've been pretty worn out latley... so my wonderful husband is sending ME away.... yes just me.... for a few days down to Arizona to visit one of my wonderful friends!!! I love my husband and kids with all my heart and wouldn't change my life for millions of dollars... but all you mother's out there know what i'm talking about, we need time for ourselves!!! So I'm greatful for my wonderful husband that will be home with the kids and still working and taking care of things at the house so that I can have a few days to play!! And of course I have to bring back a Hard Rock Cafe glass for him... what a small price to pay. I am really excited to see my friend Emily as well, I haven't seen her for more than over a year and it will be great to see her and catch up on our lives and go shopping and playing!! The ticket is purchased so there's no turning back!!! Arizona here I come!!

Randomness

Adie loves to get my shoes and wear them around the house... total girl as you can see she also loves phones and purses!!!
Davis decided he wanted ALL the stuffed animals on his bed and they had to jump up there and get a picture taken. Things these kids do... I'll tell you they keep my on my toes!!
I couldn't believe how long it's been since i've posted.. I know it's only a few weeks but I feel it's been months. We have been so busy trying to keep up on things at home. Busy with work and family things. So I think I will just quickly update what's been going on with the kids. We had some of our good friends come and visit from Seattle. I love when they come because we enjoy their company. They have a little boy named Dillion that is the same age and Davis and they play great together. When they would visit us before we all had kids, we would all go out to dinner and go to a movie and hang out at the mall, stay out late and things like that.... now we have kids, we stay at home and hang out till 8 oclock. We feel like we are getting old when stuff like that happens. We had mentioned we don't remember what it was like before we had kids. It's sort of hard to remember all that. But we did have a great time and me and Erin did have the opportunity to get out of the house and go see a movie. Which we were so grateful for especially her because she doesn't have the chance to get out much by herself. I love hanging out with them and wish we all lived closer.
Davis and Adie change everyday. They do something new everyday... especially Adie. She had starting to say more words every day... she says bubble, shoe, mommy, daddy, papa. If you ask her where her nose is... she sticks a finger in each nostril. You ask her where her ears are, she puts her hands ontop of her head. And if she sees Steve or I sitting on the floor indian style... she runs in her room, grabs a book and will back up into your lap so you can read to her. Davis has this new thing where he says something to you and says "is that a great idea?" It's amazing the things they do. I don't know what I would do without my kids. They seriously are the hightlight of my day and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Christmas

We had a wonderful christmas, we had many splendid memories. On christmas eve we were suppose to go to my husband's Grandma's house for their Christmas eve party, but unfortunatley, she had sugery and then ended up having a stroke a few days after so she spent Christmas in the hospital so we didn't do a Christmas Eve party, so we decided to stay home and make some christmas memories and traditions of our own. We had a fun filled activity day on Christmas Eve and here are the results. (above) Here are the kids in their Christmas church attire... I love these kids!!

This is Davis and I making a gingerbread house on Christmas Eve Day. The first time I have ever done that... very time consuming. But it was fun.
This is what Adie was doing while we were doing all these fun activities... she is such an explorer. (sorry picture is turned sideways)
These are the cookies we made for Santa... can you tell Davis was a big helper?
We went to the Ogden's Christmas on 25th street light show and walked around and looked at the lights and all the different little villages they had.... Davis loved the big lite up train.

When we got home, we opened up our Christmas Eve pajamas and watched 'How the Grinch stole Christmas'.... half way into the movie... this was Davis. They are so cute when they are sleeping...
Christmas morning... Davis LOVED his basketball hoop.... this is him jumping and saying 'yeah!' after making a basket, we might have a pro on our hands.
And last but not least... Adie with her little doll and stroller, she loves this thing and pushes it all over the house.
We had a wonderful day at home. We enjoyed it snowing because it made it feel more like christmas. I am so greateful for the Christmas Season to help us reflect on the wonderful birth of Christ and and the many sacrifices he has gone through for us so we can live with our families for eternity.

Dear Santa...I want...

So I went to a Christmas party at my Sister's
house and Davis and Adie finally got to see Santa!! As you can see.... Adie was not very happy, she started crying right when I took her up to him, one look at him and she knew she didin't want to get close. But of course you have to get pictures of with Santa every year!! It's what we do! And I was expecting Davis to cry too like he did the past 2 years. But this year he would sit on his lap but he didn't look at him once, I helped him sit on Santa's lap but when Santa was talking to him he wouldn't even look at him. I had to tell Santa what Davis wanted becasue Davis was to scared to say, so once I said "Davis did you want to ask Santa to bring you a basketball hoop?" Davis said " Yes" and then I took a picture and he was done. I am impressed though he didn't cry. So I was pleased that he is growing out of those kinds of things so it's more fun for him to enjoy. I am so excited for this year just because Davis is getting more into the Christmas spirit. It's fun to share Christmas with your kids, and I am really excited for the years to come, but enjoying the moment of it now.

Sweet moment

Things my son says are beyond me, but when it comes to tender moments... he totally melts my heart! The other day I was having a rough day and I just couldn't compose my self any longer, so I let the waterworks run and I sat down in my chair in the living room where the kids were playing and just sobbed. Davis was talking to me about his cars and trucks, he looks at me mid sentence and he comes and sits on my lap and says:

Davis: Mommy what's wrong? What's the matter? (He starts wiping my tears away)
Me: Mom's is sad
Davis: Mom you hurt?
Me: Yes a little bit
Davis: You hurt right here? ( pointing to my heart)
Me: Yes mommy's heart hurts a little bit
Davis: (Kisses my heart) You need a bandaid?

That kind of moment was so sweet to me. It helps me understand that even though they are small, they do notice grown ups and the things they do and their feelings. It makes me happy that he has a such a sweet spirit he was trying to heal my heart.

Needless to say, he made my day a lot better!!
